Join us for a unique, one-of-a-kind experience with "From Spore to Plate: Shiitake & Morel Adventure" — a day dedicated to the art and joy of mushroom cultivation and foraging, followed by a gourmet culinary experience set in the heart of nature.

Morning Session: Shiitake Mushroom Log Cultivation Kick off the day with a hands-on shiitake mushroom cultivation workshop led by expert cultivator Mike Kempenich of Gentleman Forager. You'll learn all about the fascinating world of fungi, focusing on the lifecycle of shiitake mushrooms and how to grow them on logs. This session is perfect for beginners and seasoned foragers alike, offering insights into selecting logs, inoculating them with shiitake spores, and the best practices for caring for your mushroom logs. By the end of the workshop, you'll have your own inoculated log to take home and start your journey into mushroom cultivation.

Gourmet Lunch in the Forest Enjoy a, forest-inspired, morel centric lunch planned and prepared by Executive Chef Taylor O'Brien of Cosmos restaurant to keep you energized for the adventure ahead.

Afternoon Foray: Morel Mushroom Hunting The adventure continues with a guided foray into the forest in search of the elusive morel mushroom, known for its distinct taste and texture. Our experienced guides will share tips and tricks for identifying these coveted fungi, ensuring a safe and successful hunt. As we explore the woods, you'll learn about the habitat and ecological role of morels, making the experience not only a hunt but a deep dive into the ecosystem.

  • A basket or bag for your morel finds
  • Water bottle and any personal necessities
