Calling all Twin Cities food enthusiasts! Get ready for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience as we present exclusive cooking classes led by the acclaimed chef, Virginia Demarest. Join us in celebrating the rich flavors of Gentleman Forager's wild ingredients, including an array of wild mushrooms, vibrant greens, juicy berries, and even foraged rice. In this first class in a series, join The Gentleman Forager, Mike Kempenich,  as he shares tips on finding and harvesting Pleurotus Ostreatus (oyster mushrooms) and Grifola Frondosa (maitake mushrooms). Then, Chef Virginia Demarest will teach you how to clean and prepare these mushrooms to create a versatile mushroom ragu and a delightful soft scramble.

Chef Virginia Demarest brings a wealth of expertise and a diverse culinary background to the table. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, her passion for cooking was nurtured by her parents, igniting a lifelong desire to explore the world of flavors. After college in Rochester, NY, and exciting adventures abroad in Barcelona and London, she made her mark in the culinary capital of New Orleans, working alongside renowned chefs and earning her Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts from the prestigious Chef John Folse Culinary Institute. Today, her culinary creations continue to captivate diners at her influential bar and restaurant, Bayou Beer Garden.
