Fall Mushroom Foray & Lunch– Early Season

Early fall marks the beginning of a new wave of wild mushrooms, offering a unique opportunity to explore the changing forest and discover some of the season’s best edible fungi. Under the expert guidance of Mike Kempenich, aka The Gentleman Forager, we’ll search for Lobster mushrooms, Hen of the Woods (Maitake), and other early fall varieties, learning how to safely identify and harvest them.

Foraging is about more than just finding mushrooms—it’s about understanding their habitats, building confidence in identification, and connecting with nature. This hands-on experience is perfect for both beginners and seasoned foragers looking to refine their skills.

After our adventure, we’ll gather for a freshly made mushroom pizza lunch in the woods, because great food is an essential part of the foraging experience!
