We wanted to create a delicious food item, that doesn't taste like mushrooms, and could provide a daily dose of lions mane mushroom without changing a persons habits and routines. We are very excited to introduce our delicious Brain Butter. It's made with a combination of cahews, almonds and peanuts, lions mane mushroom, and just a hint of maple. Its great to spead on a piece of toast, bagel or croisant in the morning--- on pancakes or waffles, incorporated into deserts and baking, and honestly, right off the spoon and into your mouth! We use all natural ingredients including certified organic lions mane fruiting bodies with no added sugars. Brain Butter is also gluten free, vegetarian and veegan friendly and shelf stable for 1 year!
A growing number of reputable studies suggest lions mane may have cognitive protective properties, and help to prevent cognative brain decline. Some of those findings include;
- Regular consumption may promote nerve and brain health and may reduce the risk of neurodegenerative disease-induced cell death
- In a double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial of 50–80-year-old Japanese adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, oral intake of H. erinaceus (lions mane) three times a day for 16 weeks was associated with marked improvement in the revised Hasegawa Dementia Scale (HDS-R) as compared to controls
- In a clinical trial, administration of lions mane (in cookies) over 4 weeks showed a reduction in some symptoms of anxiety and depression in menopausal women
