Native American Cooking Class
Ojibwe Anishinaabe Chef Austin Bartold will be teaching a class he calls Iskigamizige-giizis, or "Boiling Sap Moon". You might guess the focus point of the dishes being taught will be maple syrup, including the use of candy cap mushrooms, which, believe it or not, taste exactly like Maple Syrup!

Time & Location
Apr 10, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Columbia Heights, 4030 NE Central Ave, Columbia Heights, MN 55421, USA
About the Event
Chef Bartold will be teaching you how to make two incredibly delicious dishes that feature maple syrup. The fist is a Chilled wild rice salad with craisins, carrots, spinach, caramelized onions, apples, lions’ mane and a maple vinaigrette. The second dish is native caught walleye cakes with a pineapple and candy cap compote. You will of course have a chance to sample, and wine/beer are available for purchase. The Shroom Roon, inside the Central MIx building, features a pass through kitchen to your front row seat to be able to really see and interact with Chef Austin as he teaches in his sometimes humorous and always entertaining style!
